Saturday, September 9, 2023, was a beautiful day to host the 3rd annual Lake Central Education Foundation You Can Be a Hero 5K Race, honoring the late Dr. Dayna Less, a Lake Central graduate.  Special guests included Mr. Brian Less, Dayna’s father, and Mr. James Tarka, founder of the Northwest Indiana Calumet Region Striders, Gold Cup Road Race Series, and United States Veteran.  The Kolling Panther, Chick-fil-A Cow, and Feet Fleet Sports Shoe mascots cheered on our runners and walkers as they began the race and returned to cross the finish line.
